"I know my client has a formidable list of previous convictions, but he say* he suffers from ■ delusions from time to time, as the result of his war service for some years, wjth the Navy and in India." said. Mr. Noble, who appeared for John Herbert Tonking, salesman, aged 34, in the Police Court to-day. Tonking pleaded guilty to charges of obtaining runns of £2 and £3 by mean* of valueless cheque*.
~ Mr. Xoble added that Tonkhitr wanted to bo medically examined. "He must have delusion* to borrow £2 from a man and give him a cheque for £4 for it," said Mr. Noble.
■Sir. Hunt: He has had "delusions" since 1920. according to his list. He is sentenced to three months' 'imprisonment on one charge and six monthe' on the other, the terms to be cumulative. I will see that he is examined in prison.
