ST. ANDREW'S PLAYERS.
SCOTTISH AMATEUR DRAMA. Three typically Scottish plays were given in the concert chamber of the Town Hall on Saturday night by the St. Andrew's Players. Village life in the early 'forties was portrayed in the comedy, "Till the Bells Ring," by Graham Moffat. Mr. D. McLaren was the producer, and the talented cast gave an entertaining performance. A short drama of the Scottish coalfields. "The Price of Coal," by H. Brighouse, and produced by Mr. J. G. Spence, was full of suspense and excitement. The third play, "Service Before Self." was written and produced by a former Auckland president of the St. Andrew's Society. It received appreciative applause from the audience. During the intervals musical items were played by an orchestra directed by Miss Lilliau Biaithwaite.
