THE MAORI'S TASK.

REVENGE ON QUEENSLAND

"Billy" Wallace Confident N.Z Team Will Turn Tables.

The Maori Rugby team was scheduled to play the fourth match of its Australian tour this afternoon, when the opposition comprised the Queensland representatives, who last week beat the New Zealanders 39—22.

There were three lield goals kicked for Queensland in the second spell, and no doubt these four-pointers had a demoralising effect upon the visitors, who actually led 17 —11 at half-time. At any rate, speaking at a civic reception at Toowooniba on Tuesday Mr. W. J. Wallace, the famous 1905 All Black, who is coach and assistant-manager of the New Zealanders, expressed confidence in the ability of his charges to turn the tables on the maroons in the return engagement to-day.

Results of names played by previous Maori teams against Queensland: —- 1910.—Won 13-8. 1914.—Lost 9-19. 1914.—Won 11—0.
