LIBRARY LEAGUE.
BRIDGE AFTERNOON. The Mayoress' War Memorial Library League held yesterday afternoon one of the largest parties this league has had sinco its inception. The function was held in the supper room of the Town Hall, which was enclosed with green curtains, radiators being placed right round the hall, and beautiful pot plants and foliago surrounding the centre pillars. Tho walla were encased with bunting, and the entertainment was set in delightful comfort for the large number of visitors. The Mayoress, Mrs. Ernest Davis, was assisted by hostesses, Mrs. J. S. L. Stewart and Miss Alice Basten. Tho committee were: Mesdames Preston, Chambers, R. C. Matthias, A. E. Moore, E. McNair, F. Webster, G. Eddowee, Nicholson, Perry, Hopkins, Haycock, A. Hall, Misses L. Phillips, McEldowney, B. Wilkens, Clarke and Rendell.
Mrs. Davis, in a brief speech, welcomed the guests, and expressed her appredntion of the wonderful work of the Query Club, and the organisers of the afternoon.
