CHAIRMAN'S HONORARIUM*.

RESCINDING OF RESOLUTION. (By 3Kelegrnpli.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. At a nweting of the Thames Hospital Board yesterday Mr. P. E. Brenan, olf Paeroa, tlie only nominee, was elected 1 , chairman iti succession to Mr. W. Ei. Hale, who iteeently resigned. Mr. A. G« Davis, of Kaiihere, Mr. Hales' successor as representative of Hauraki Plains* County Council, was welcomed.

The Waikato Board advised the cancellation of 'the present reciprocal.' arrangements Between all boards relative to all cases coming under sections--92 and 94 of the Act.

The special committee's recommendation was adopted that £8737, plus unrecognised native lees, be wiped off for bookkeeping purpotes only from the total of £10,807 in .outstanding fees for iivc vears.

Mr. J. W. Danby .suggested that the chairman's honorariran should receive consideration, that aai allowance of £95 was too big. He felt liie position should be honorary. The position was overpaid in relation to otiier boards. Mr. W. Madgwick supported Mr. Danby. The secretary, Mr. G. Tonge, who was acting-ehairmavi, quoted the Act and said that the honorarium had been fixed for two yearns and would have to be reviewed in 3lay, 193 G.

Later in the meeting Mr. Brenaii gave notice of motion that tIVJ resolution fixing the honorarium be rascinded. Mr! C. B. Norwood, Wellington, acknowledged the board's lette-n re Mr. F. H Claxton's offer of two and' a quarter acres of land and a ten-rooirt.ed house for crippled children, stating that the central executive committee v>as busy on policy matters and would? consider the offer at its next meeting.
