CARD EVENING.
PAPATOETOE BOWLERS. The annual social and trophy presentation of the Papatoetoe Bowling and Croquet Club was held in the Town Hall, Papatoetoe, on Monday evening. The guests were received by Mrs. R. ParkerHill and Mrs. K. Thompson, president of the croquet club. The social took the form of a card evening, ami thirty tables were arranged for bridge and 500. The highest scores were attained by Miss A. Johns, Mr. J. Wyllie, and Mr. Gow. Durinw the evening croquet and bowling trophies for the summer season were presented; An enjoyable evening was brought to a close by a dainty supper, which was arranged by the ladies of the croquet club. Those present included: Mesdames W. W Massey, D. Gilberd, T. R. Smytheman, A.'G. Grinter, P. G. Wyman, J. Buchanan F. Wells, J. Jenkins, 0. Ranum, T. Richards, E. Hadlow, Bryant, J Butler, J.
