A motion of sympathy with the president, Mrs. J. T. F. Mitchell, in the -recent loss of her son was carried by all members standing. A new member of the committee. Mrs. A. M. Harcsnape, was welcomed by the chairman, and another member, Mrs. W. R. Fee, was appointed to act on the executive. The resignation of Mrs. Watson Aircy for reasons of health was accepted with regret. A very satisfactory monthly report was read which gave a record of 82 engagements for February. Housekeepers had been sent to various country districts and a number of women to take charge of houses or children or to do parttime and emergency work had been supplied. There was a steady demand for well-trained house workers. It had been found possible to help worker menibers to secure positions in Sydney through the Home Service Bureau there. Emergency calls from persons travelling on ships or visiting Auckland for short periods had been answered quickly and satisfactorily, and it was generally felt that the association was doing valuable service along these lines in the community.
