ST. CUTHBERT'S PLAY.

CHARMING FROCKS WORN. In the parlance of the far-off days, one would say that the frocking of Quality Street, which was presented by St. Cuthbcrt's Old Girls' Association in the Town Hall Concert Chamber last evening was "vastly quaint and becoming." Indeed it was. There, in all their charm and glory were the old-fashioned silks, the short-waisted bodices, skirts primly touching the ground, and flowerpot and coal-scuttle crowns to the bonnets. And with the attractive setting of a cool-looking blue and white room, it was altogether a very pretty play.

In the opening scene, Mrs. LowriP McGregor, who took the part of Phoebe Throssel, wore a frock of moss green patterned cashmere with ooatee of velvet. She had a. white fur necklet, a muir and a bonnet. Later, as the little schoolmistress, she wore grey kistre with frills of white net at the neck and a white mob cap. Her ballroom gown of white groegrin was a lovely affair and was ■embroidered in panels of pearls with old lace around the neck.

As Susan Throssell, Miss Linda de Renzy wore in her first appearance a nattier blue frock with lace collar and cuffs. She later appeared in black, and when she went to the ball she had on lace and georgette witli a beautiful Limerick lace scarf which was over 100 years old. The part of Miss Mary Willoughby was taken by Miss Valeric Anderson, who wore black silk with lavender embroidered, scarf airtl later she appeared in lilac taffeta with a grey squirrel fur jacket. As Fanny Wiilougliby, Miss Frank Heron wore roße cashmere with a lace scarf. In a later appearance she wore violet taffeta and net.

The part of Pattie, the rnaid, was taken by Miss Trixie Abel, vVho wore a dark red silk frock with a long white apron and mob cap. As Charlotte Parratt, Miss Betty Buttle wore floral dimity with pleated frills around the neck, a bonnet, and carried a beautiful old-fashioned umbrella. Another frock worn by her was of leaf green with puffed sleeves. Miss Shirley Watkins, who took the part of Henrietta Turnbull, wore fawn brocade with emerald green trimmings. She also appeared in a frock of rose coloured talFcta with silver lace fichu'. Miss Phyllis Rawson, who played the role of Isabella, wore a dimity frock with pink snsh and hat with pink ribbons. Kose taffeta with a net fichu was worn by Miss Bub Suter, as Harriet.
