SECOND GRADE FINAL. EDEN AND EPSOM VICTORIOUS. In the final of the second grade grass court championship of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, Eden and Epsom on Saturday beat I'akapuna by eight rubbers to one (the other being unfinished). Results (Eden and Epsom first) :— Men's Singles.—W. Gooch beat H. Thompson, o—4, 3—6, 6—3; J. Brown beat Cheal, 6—4, 2—6, 6—4. Women's Singles.—Miss M. Hall beat Mrs. Thomas, 4—6, 6—5, 6—2 ; Miss P. Cook beat Miss Everiss, 6—l, 6—3. Men's Doubles.—Gooch and Brown lost to Thompson and Cheal, 6—5, 4—6, 2 0 • Lewis and D. Peak beat Barrett and Gribble, 6—5, 6—4. Women's Doubles.—Misses Hall and Cook beat Mesdames Thomas and Everiss. 6—4, 6—4; Misses McClymont and Brodie beat Misses Halse and Corner, 2—G, 6 3 6—2. Combined Doubles.—Lewis and Miss McClymont beat Barrett and Miss Hall, 6—3 6 —5. ' AUCKLAND BEATS KAIPARA. Teams representing the Auckland and iiaipara Lawn Tennis Associations played a contest at the Windmill Road courts on Saturday, the former winning by seventeen rubbers to three. Souster, 9—7; E. Stotter heat B. Butterworth, 9—l. Women's Singles.—Mrs. Hair beat Miss Ellett, 9—5; Miss Stewart beat Miss Coart, o—6. Men's Doubles.—Hair and E. Stotter beat Souster and Butterworth, 9—5; T. Stotter and Hogg beat McCarthy and Bond, o—2. Women's Doubles.—Mrs. Hair and Miss Stewart beat Misses Ellett and Coad, 9—7; .Mrs. Bigelow and Miss Buchanan lost to Mrs. Howard and Miss Elwood, 6—9. Mixed Doubles. —Mrs. Bigelow and T. As a result of this match Te Koraenga wins the A grade competition of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association's singlecourt clubs.

FIFTH GRADE SEMI-FINAL. In the semi-final of the fifth grade, hard court • section, Mnrist Brothers Old Boys defeated Unity by seven rubbers to three. LOWER WAIKATO JUNIOR TITLES. The Lower Waiknto junior tennis championships were concluded on Saturday at Taupiri in fine weather. Results: — Men's Singles.—Semi-finnls : Sampson bent Cunningham, O—G; Towell beat Trew, o—2. Final: R. Sampson (Ngaruawahia) lost to Powell (Rahul), 3—6, 6—4, 3—6. Women's Singles.—Final : Miss Russell (Rnhui) beat Mrs. Beck (Ohinewai), (5—3, C—l. Men's Doubles.—Second round : Montfort and Gorman beat Cunningham and Knapper, 9 —4; Farrell and Cully bent Connew and Trew by default: Powell and Ainscough beat Turley and Clark, 9—2. Third round : Sampson and McCownn heat Button and Drinkwater, 11—0; Powell and Ainscough bent Farrell and Cully, 9—l ; Sampson and McCowan beat Lift and .Toll, 9—6.
