STAFF SOCIAL.

FARMERS' TRADING COMPANY. Over 600 bueine&s associates and employees attended the final of a series of social evenings, given by the staff of the Farmers' Trading Company, and held in the reception Hall last evening. Beautiful spring blooms decorated the hall and tea rooms, palms and foliage adding an effective colour tone to the artistic colouring of the hall. Specially interesting was the musical programme, including numbers by the orchestra, the choristers and the minstrels, all performers being members cf the etafT. Enthusiastic applause and recalls were "iveu, to Misses Dora Watson, Amy Railey, Tui Ilavcrfield, E. Smith, Joaji Dempsev, X. Lingard, K. Carton, Messrs. R. Scott, B. Cowsill, K. Lewis, J. White, I). Ohms. S. Fernyhough, R. Foster, F. Wright, C. Tidman, 33. Lundon, and H. Barton.

During an interval in ti'e dancing the secretary of the social committee, Mr. Sinden, "on behalf of the members, presented a baton to Mr. "I. F. Garland, conductor of the orchestn. Presentations were also made to Mr. Povey and Mr. Newton, on behalf of the library committee, and to Mr. G. A. Young, in recognition of his services as a member of the committee.

Berry, daffodil georgette; Miss B. Strand, cau de ml fatin; Miss A. Dawson, black Chantilly iace.
