DRAMA EVENING.

PLAY AT LYCEUM CLUB. All the cliarm of period frocking was to be seen in the play presented by the members of the dramatic circle of the Lyceum Club, when "The Rose Without a Thorn," a three-act play by Clifford Bax, was produced by Mrs. Zoc Bartlcy"Baxtcr for the circle last evening. The play deals with the love affairs and marriages of King Henry VIII., and the delicacy of situation and the subtleties of the lines were handled cleverly by a cast who were produced with a fine sense of direction.

As Catherine Howard, Miss Dorceii Saunders wore in the opening scene a period frock of Burgundy satin, richly embroidered, with a panel in the front of gold satin. She had a Medici collar of gold lace and a circlet of gold and diamante was on the head. Miss 'A. Peglar, as Ann of Cleaves, wore a frock of leaf-green velvet with a double girdle of silver braid. Her Juliet cap and Medici collar were embroidered with pearls. The part of Kathleen Tilney, a lady-in-waiting to Catherine Howard, was taken by Miss Erica Blamires, who had on a frock of blue brocaded satin with front panel of lace. As Margery Morten, another lady-in-waiting, Miss Leila Malier was in a bright red satin with silver relief and a silver Medici collar and head band. Portraying Mary Lascclles. a friend and lady-in-waiting to Anne of Cleaves, Miss Mayes wore gold satin with petunia sleeves and girdle. The parts of the men were taken as follows: —King Henry VIII., by Mr. Gilbert O'Sullivan; Thomas Cra.nmer, Mr. Norton Hammond; Sir Thomas Audley, Mr. Hugh Woods; Earl of Hertford, Mr. Lan Moir; Thomas Culpeper, Mr. Apsloy Bathurst; Francis Derham, Mr. E. Churchouse; John Lasccllesi Mr. Hamish Henderson. Mrs. W. 11. Parkes, president of the Lyceum Club, presided, and introduced Mrs. Bartlcy-Baxter, who gave a resume of the acts. Incidental music was played by Mrs. Gordon Robertson, piano, and Miss Isobel Lnnglands, violin.
