DRAMA IN A FLAT.
Man's Death Due to Deep Knife Wound.
GIRL COMPANION" MISSING.
MONTREAL, October 7. William Owen, an employee of a Montreal firm of stockbrokers, died early yesterday from a deep knife wound in one shoulder. The police are looking for a young Spanish night club dancer, Dolores Morel, who occupied the apartment in which Owen was found. According to the police the girl went to the home of Dr. J. Hamelin and told him a man had been injured in her apartment. The doctor, on finding Owen bleeding and unconscious, told Miss Morel to telephone to the police. Miss Morel left the apartment and fled in Owen's motor car which was afterwards found abandoned several miles away. When the girl telephoned to the police she said Owen was wounded with a knife while she was struggling with him after he had struck her. A statement that Owen was formerly secretary to Mr. Lloyd George, British Liberal leader, is denied. However, it is reported that he might have been attached to the secretariat in some capacity.

A scheme for the provision of two new reservoirs in the Thames Valley, each holding 4,000,000,000 gallons of water, at an estimated total cost of £4,083,000, was unanimously adopted at a meeting of the Metropolitan Water Board. Steps to obtain Parliamentary sanction for the scheme will be taken in the coming session. SYMBOL OF FRIENDSHIP. BRITISH GESTURE TO BELGIUM. RUGBY, October 7. Fifteen thousand primrose roots, gathered from English woods and lanes, have been sent to Belgium and will be planted on the hillside where King Albert fell to his death. It is hoped that this typical British flower, which is uncommon in Belgium, vVill form' a living memorial to King Albert, and that for many generations to come it will be a symbol of the affection and esteem in which he was held in Britain.
