MASTERTON PICTURE SHOW
A SATISFACTORY YEAR
The Masterton Picture and Entertainment Company, Limited, had a thoroughly satisfactory year, the net profit beina £2288, according to tlie annual report of the directors. This was practically the same as the previous year, although very different from some ot the earlier years, when the profit was sometimes equal to double the present amount. It was in those years that opportunity was taken to write down assets very heavily, so that now neither machinery nor plant appears in the balance-sheet. The company is still in a position to maintain its rate of dividend. The rate was reduced in 1931-32, but the directors recommend a dividend for the 1933-34 year of 2/ per share, of which 1/ per share has already been paid. This will absorb £1500, and it was proposed to carry the balance remaining in appropriation account to the reserve account, which will then stand at £10,109.
