RISE AT FEIIiDING. DAIRY PRICES ADVANCE. Prices within range of those ruling when butterfat was over 1/ per lb were paid at Feilding yesterday for extra choice dairycows, and ewe hoggets also realised the highest pricey paid in the yards for some time. All other departments of the sale were more or less on a level with late rates. The following are the details: — Fat Sheep.—Lower prices ruled for all classes of fat sheep, although there were some prime lots offered. The demand was very slack, butchers not needing supplies. Wethers of heavy weight just about maintained the previous week's rates. Extra prime wethers, 27/10 to 28/1; prime, 20/10; very good, 24/ to 25/; ordinary, 22/S); primeet ewes, 24/11, 25/; very good, 24/; good, 22/0 to 22/9; fair, 20/7 to 21/11; others, 16/2 to 17/10; best lambs, 22/0 to 215/6; ordinary, 19/ to 19/10; light, Hi/9 to 18/. r " Fat Cattle.— Sonip good ox beeE was yarded, and for this values reached above schedule rates. Cow beef was at recent levels, but heifers sold on an improved market. Prime ox, £7 15/; ditto heifers, £5 3/; good, £4; light, £2 12/0; best cows. £5 0/: good, £4 5/ to £4 11/; fair, £3; light, £1 10/. Dairy Stock.—A much better market tor dairy cows was seen, some extra choice animals going up to within reach of predepreeeion values. Heifers were fairly slow of sale. Clioic-' Jersey springing cows. £8 5/ to £9 10/; very good. £7 to £7 10/; good. £0; fair sorts, £3 5/; best heifers £- r > 2/G; good-sized. £4 to £4 12/6; fair, £3 5/ to £3 15/; small, £2 5/ to £3. Store Cattle.—A small entry met with a poor sale, values being at nominal rates. Good three-year steers, £3 to £3 3/; potter cows, best weights, 25/; others, from 10/ up; yearling Jersey heifers, wellgrown, £1 5/ J small, 17/6. Store Sheep.—Breeding ewes slackened somewhat in demand, but the leeway wns made up by ewe hoggets, which made exceptionally high values. Some splendid lines were yarded and competition was keen. Well-grown ewe hoggets, 26/3 to 27/10; good, 24/3 to 25/10; others, 20/10 to 23/0; best wether ditto, 18/0; good sizes. 17/; others, IC/2; inferior, 11/; goodmouthed four-year and five-year ewes, in lamb to Southdown rams, 22/6 to 22/10; good, 21/(5; poor. 17/10; well woolled fourtooth ditto. 32/3; six-tooth ditto, 31/0; good m.a. ditto, 30/; purebred two-tooth and four-tooth Southdown ewes, 23/; large-framed full-mouthed ewes, 24/8; inferior five-year ditto, 17/.
