ADDISON'S FLAT. FURTHER INTERIM DIVIDEND. (Ity Telegraph.— rress Association.) WESTPORT, Friday. At a mooting of directors of Addison's Flat Gold Mining Company this evening a further Interim dividend o£ 8 por ccut wns declared, payable on August 10. An nddltlonal £100 was also placed to reserve. The total dividends since operations coinmeuced total 33 per ceut. MANAGERS' REPORTS. Matnki (Murcliisnn). —Lnst week the dredge worked for 323 hours on a face of 530 ft, pulling ahead 32ft in ground o£ an average depth of 14ft. The ground In the river is very shallow with the exception of about 80ft on the east side, and this shallow ground Ims been dredged clean by the old dredge. Tho pug of which the bottom in composed is very troublesome on the stacker, causing considerable slipping. This is affecting the yardage 11 ml the gold return, and can be expected to continue for at least another 200 ft. Improvement may be expected on the west side o£ the cut within the next fortnight.

Mahakipawa Goldflelds.—Report for week ending July 25: Diagonal drive from No. 2 crosscut west has been advanced to OOft from start to crosscut. There is now 4ft of soft bottom on the left-hand side of the face and 2ft on the right, the low ground bearing away to the right, and the drive is being turned to follow it. The wash consists of very large boulders. Leading face lias been driven a further lGft, and has been stopped, as the ground is falling away towards the diagonal drive above, which will bo more suited for working this strip. A new leading face has been commenced 2Gft back from the old face, and on the le£t-hnnd side of It. This is now 21ft from the old drive, and is showing gold freely in a decided crevice on the left-hand side of the face. There is 3ft of soft bottom in the face. Preparations arc being made to open up a blocking strip off No. 11 east crosscut, which hns been left until a convenient time. The collar set in the Alice Fell shaft is now in position and the temporary headframe erected. The wiring for the pump and hoist is now being done, and -when the hoist arrives sinking will be resumed. NEVIS DIESEL DREDGE. At the first annual meeting of the Nevis Diesel Electric Dredging Company, Limited, held in Dunedin this week, Mr. D. S. McKcnzle, chairman of directors, said that dredging operations, which commenced on March 12, had resulted in a loss. The directors had confidently expected that the dredge would move quickly into payable ground. It was unfortunate that the dredge had hnd to be overhauled more than was anticipated. lie urged the new directors to consider acquiring further adjacent ground nfter boring had bden done. Until the dredge started again the expenses would not be more than £250 a month. YIELDS OF COMPANIES. Bell-Kilgour (Cromwell). —This week, 04oz OJdwt. King Solomon (Gore). —This week, 750z 6dwt. Bell, Hooper, Cromwell.—For week ended July 27, lloz lldwt 4gr. LONG TRAIL SURVEY. The Long Trail Gold Mining Coinpnny, Limited (Colville), reports that a survey of all mine workings is in progress urnler the management of Mr. R. F. Landreth. An assay plan is being prepared with a view to locating the runs of ore, their pitch and value. In about a month the directors expect to be able to formulate a policy for future operations. WORK AT GILLESPIE'S BEACH. The Gillespie's Beach dredge (South Westland) for the last three weeks has been working outside til eoriginal boundary to the extreme south end of the claim. The jp-ountl there, the company states, has not been proved, but results warrant this being cleaned up before returning , into the regular area.
