A GOOD GAME.
North Shore were responsible for a good effort to down Grammar B on No. 2 ground after a very fine game, in which the pace was on from bell to bell, and there were many sparkling dashes on the part of both sides. In the two spells 27 points were scored, but tries were not easy to get, and each score was the result of much hard play and a decidedly bright finishing effort. In the early stages North Shore forwards slightly shaded the Grammar pack, but they had to hammer long et the defence before it was completely penetrated, and Hay opened the scoring with a fine try, which Brinsden converted, giving Shore a lead of five points. Gra;nmar then came to light and Spittnll and Stubbs each scored, Gooch con-verted one and at interval Grammar led B—s.
Early in the second half Hay scored for Brinsden to convert, and once more Shore had taken the lead, but it was not for long as Good landed a penalty goal and Grammar were one point up—ll—lo. Two scores, a penalty goal by Hay and a try by Finlayson, both to the Shore, saw the latter leave the field winners by 16 points to 11.
