COLLEGE DAY GAMES. GRAMMAR OUTPLAY KING'S. Given pride of place in the matter of grounds at Eden Part, the annual ''College Day" games were below standard. It was noticeable that the interest taken in the contests was nowhere near as keen as in previous years.

The return match between Auckland Grammar School and King's College proved a walkover for the dark blues, who defeated their old rivals by 33 poirrts to nil. It was one of the heaviest defeats ever suffered by the maroons in the long series of matches. The younger, lighter, and less experienced college fifteen were clearly outplayed, and if it had not been for. the good work of their fullback, the margin against them would have been even greater. For Grammar tries were scored by Sayers (3), Knight (2), Thompson and Coughlan, while Passmore converted four tries and Coughlan potted a field goal. The game between Sacred Heart College and Mount Albert Grammar School was more evenly contested, but here also the form was below standard. Sacred Heart, who won by 14 points to 5, controlled the play in the first half, and although the light blues were more on attack than defence in the second spell, they were unable to make up the leeway. For the winners tries were scored by Taylor and O'Regan, both of which were converted by Hare, who also put over a fine field goal. Mount Albert's five points came as the result of a try by Hefferman, which was converted by Gordon.
