HILLSBORO' CEMETERY.
I see liv report ill your paper recently that the Oneliunga Borough Council proposes _to a further sum of £400 in concreting footpaths in the borough, but no 'mention was made of tlie paths at Hill.-vboro' Cemetery. It is a well-known fact that, from the sale of burial plots, grave-digging fees, etc., the council receives hundreds of pounds in revenue annually; yet, apart from the grave-diggers wages, practically nothing is expended on the upkeep of the cemetery. Over two years ago new plots and paths were formed in one part of the cemetery, and many buria'.K have taken place there, and yet at the present time it is quite impossible, owing to the lack of a few loads of scoria, to get near any of the graves without sinking up to the tops of one's shoes in sticky, yellow clay. An the; plots cost the council very little, the labour to form them being provided free to the council by the Unemployment Board, surely some of the revenue received from the sale of plots can he spent on the place, which produces it. and thus make it a little easier for visitors to attend to the graves of loved ones. COXSTAXT VISITOR.
