PUKEKOHE BOROUGH
RATES FOR YEAR. (From Our Own Correspondent.} P UKEKOIIE, Wcclneeclay. The monthly meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council was held this evening. Auckland Hospital Board. —The annual hospital levy for the year ending March 31, 1935, was fixed at £803 4/1, as compared with £860 12/8 for last year. Bates. —The finance committee advised having struck the following rates subject to the council's approval at next month's meeting: A consolidated rate of 2 15-32 d in the £ on capital value, a special town district loan rate of 7.32 din the £, a uniform annual fee Of 3/6 per receptacle for the removal of rubbish, and a separate water supply rate for ordinary supply to lands and dwelling houses of l-12th per cent on the annual value. Foreman's Estimates. —The following estimates submitted by the foreman were approved: Parks and reserves and general cleaning, £370; general maintenance, £1423; main highway maintenance, £5,30; construction works, £235; and bitumen extensions, £380. Accounts. — Accounts amounting to £1472 0/7 were passed for payment. Works Committee—Mr. G. H. Armstrong was appointed to fill a vacancy on the works committee, created by the resignation of Mr. H. Kissling.
