NOTED EXPLORER'S FILM.
TO-MORROW AT THE MAJESTIC,
Entertainment of a decidedly novel nature should attract excellent houses for the season commencing to-morrow at the Majestic Theatre, where Sir Hubert Wilkin's, famous Australian polar and desert explorer, will make personal appearances in the course of the screening of his film, "Arctic and Antarctic," which embodias the various enterprises in which lie his gained his celebrity among the frozen wastes of the earth.
"Arctic and Antarctic" is not only instructive—southern Press writers who have seen it during its highly-successful showings in other New Zealand centres tell us that the film provides many thrills on the ice and in the air, and also during Willcins' historic submarine voyage to a point less than 400 miles the North Pole three years ago. The picture is a fulllength feature (COOO-odd feet), and is aided considerably by Sir Hubert's remarks from the stage. An interesting fact explained is the origin of Kingsford Smith's now-famous Southern Cross.
A point worth mentioning is the fact that "Arctic and Antarctic," even without Sir Hubert's personal appearances, will not go to the suburbs. Its only season in Auckland will be at the Majestic, after which it will be screened in a few other New Zealand towns before probably leaving for a campaign in Australia. Only two sessions arc being given daily, for obvious reasons.
