HAND BLOWN OFF.

(By Telegraph.—l'ress Association.) MASTERTON, Wednesday.

While working with gelignite on a creek bed near Featherston this morning Mr. J. L. Burt had the misfortune to lose his right hand as the result of an explosion. A mailman discovered Mr. Burt trying to reach help and rushed him to Featherston, where the hand was amputated above tho wrist.
