CONTRACTS BIND.
STATE PENSION FUNDS
CONFERENCE ATTITUDE. NO SUGGESTIONS MADE. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WELLINGTON, this day. The conference of contributors to the State superannuation funds, which was opened in December and adjourned until this week, has been concluded. The Minister of Finance, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, who called the conference and placed before it details of various superannuation funds to indicate the necessity of making legislative modifica-. tions to secure greater financial stability, states that he has not yet received a report from the conference, which has finally adjourned. He has no information regarding its decisions. However, it is gathered from other quarters that 'the Government, having submitted no actual proposals other than those in the amending bill, which was hotly contested and postponed, the members of the conference were unable to make suggestions. Their general attitude was that the statutory contracts should be maintained.
