WAKATERE CLUB.
ANNUAL REGATTA. The annual regatta of the Wakatere Boating Club was held off Narrow Neck yesterday. There was a fresh breeze throughout the day and pood times were recorded. In the handicap for the Eagles Shield, 18 boats got away to an excellent start. Waliino and Wiritoa established an early lead and fought out a close race for the remainder of the course. A novelty race, in which floating balloons had to be captured and returned to the shore, caused much amusement and resulted in a win for Wisliwynne (W. 13. Cogswell). The championship race for the Keates Shield was won by Waliine, sailed by A. .Williamson.
