MANUKAU CLUB'S REGATTA.

AOMA WINS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. The Manukau Yacht Club held its annual regatta and championship races on Saturday, all the races starting off the clubhouse and finishing off tho wharf. There was a fresh northerly breeze, and 22 boats competed. Open Championship.—Only two started for this event. Aoma was first away with Kanui following. Aoma took the lead, and at the end of the lirst round Ranui retired. The finish was: Aoma, 4h 8m 40s, 1. IS-foot Championship.—The entries for this race were Mystery, Ranui, Romana, Maranui, Reremai, and Romance. Romance was first across, followed by Mystery. The finish was: Romance, 4h 13m oSs ; Reremai, 4h 31m 525. Romance won. IG-foot Championship.—Aratu was the only competitor in the 16-foot championship, and her finishing time was 111 2Sm. 14-foot Championship. — There were three starters for this race. Sea Gnome, Fay, and Sea King. Sea Gnome was first away, with Fay and Sea King following. Shortly after rounding the first buoy Fay struck a squall and capsized. Sea King carried away her tiller anu had to retire. The finish was: Sea Gnome, 31i 48m 435. Sea Gnome won. Handicap Sweepstake.—Seven boats competed in this' race: Rangi, Perseus, lona, Miss Mac, Frantic, Val and Aloma. Miss Mae was first across the line, followed by Perseus and Val. Sea Toiler capsized. Novelty Launch Race.—This race was not run owing to tile competitors all going to the assistance of the capsized yachts. Z Class Championship.—The starters for the Z class championship were: Nor' Wilson, Naomi, Kitty and Comet crossing flie lino in this order. Nor' Wilson and Comet retired. The finish was: Kitty 3h 49m -10s, Naomi 3h. sGiii 20s. Kitty won. Speed Boat Championship.—Only Surprise competed. The Surprise's finishing time was 41i 7m 30s.
