BILLIARDS TITLE.

CONTEST IN AUSTRALIA. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, February 14. Mr. Bissett, secretary of the Billiards Association, has informed representatives of the Austral Press, that he has been authorised on behalf of the Billiards Council to say that the world's professional championship will be played in Australia this year.

This announcement ends the controversy between the champion Walter Lindrum and the Billiards Council, in favour of the former, who had urged that under the conditions in which he won the championship cup in England last year he was entitled to claim that the cup and title be played this year in Australia, the country which he represented.
