CORNWELL CUP.
WIN FOR TAURANGA. AUCKLAND 16S. BEHIND. Tauranga beat Auckland by 16s in the fifth race of the Cornwell Cup contest, which was sailed this afternoon in a westerly wind. The position now is that Auckland and Tauranga each have two wins and Manukau one. The sixth race is being decided late this afternoon. The start of the fifth race was at 1.8 p.m., and Auckland, in Benny, was first over the line, followed by Whangarei (Oi), Tauranga (Betty), Manukau (Trevic), Rotorua (Me' Too) and Hamilton (Delpliinc). The draw for the sixth race, wluch started about three o'clock, was:— Auckland (Trevic), Manukau (Delphine), Whangarei (Me Too), Tauranga (Oi), Rotorua (Benny), Hamilton (Betty). The finish was closely contested, and was timed as follows: —Tauranga, 2h 29m 15s; Auckland, 2h 29m 31s; Manukau, 21i 29ni 48s; Whangarei, 2h 30m 51s.
