FALCONRY SPORT.

PIGEON FANCIERS' FEAR.

LONDON, December 30. .Alleging that falconry, one of the oldest sports in the world, has been secretly revived in Britain, pigeon fanciers are petitioning the Government to have the falcon removed from the list of protected birds. Thousands of pigeons, owned by working men who have no other hobby, are killed each year by falcons, which attack when the pigeons arc tired after they have flown from the Continent. One authority declares that 1100 pigeon rings have been collected from the nests of falcons. He believes that falconry clubs have been formed to keep the sport alive, But great pains aro taken to conceal tho whereabouts of the falconries.
