NOT HEALED YET.
FRANCO-GERMAN BREACH,
(Received 12.30 p.m.)
LONDON, January 4,
A copy of France's recent reply to Herr Hitler's peace overtures has been received at tlie Foreign Office. The impression in British circles is that direct conversations between Paris and Berlin can hardly bo pursued further at present. The divergence has been lessened, but not sufficiently td justify hope of an early agreement without the aid of the other Powers. The result of the Rome conversations is being awaited here with increased interest.
