A QUESTION ABOUT WOMEN
In his speech on prize day at ail English girls' college, Lord Lothian asked: "Supposing a feminine Cecil Rhodes looked over the world to-day and came to the conclusion that the most important thing was to produce women of 1 first-class quality to act as leaders of their fellow creatures, what kind of women would she look for? Would.she put down such qualifications similar to those which governed Rhodes scholarships for men, such as 30 per cent, for brains, 30 per cent for character, 20 per cent for scholarships, and 20 per cent . for leadership and interest in fellow r men?" Lord Lothian offered a prize to the girls for the best essay on this question.
