HUNDRED MILES AN HOUR

The Union Pacific Railway of the United States has ordered an express train of three carriages weighing only SO tons in all, no more than an ordinary Pullman sleeping car. The train is to be made of aluminium and stainless steel. It will be stream-lined like a. racing car, and at the stopping-places an automatic contrivance will open the <loors and let down the steps. A speed of 100 miles an hour is expected, with a saving of 50 por cent horse-power.
