OBITUARY.

MR. DONALD GRANT.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE PUKE, "Wednesday, The death has occurred of a well-' known resident of Te Puke, Mr, Donald Grant, at the age of 83 years. Born in Scotland, lie came to New Zealand and resided in the Manawatu district for many years, farming successfully; He was an exhibitor of live stock at agricultural shows. Twenty-five years ago he came to the Bay of Plenty and acquired a large area of land at Ohinepanca, Te Puke, from Maoris. He took a keen interest in public affairs, and for a long period was a member of the Tauranga Harbour Board, Hospital Board, County Council and Bay of Plenty Development League, also chairman. of the Harbour Board. Mr. Grant was unmarried, and at liis own request he will bo buried on liis property at Ohinepanea.

MRS. HANNAH R. BRUNT, A former resident of tho Bay of Plenty, Mrs. Hannali R. Brunt, passed away at Auckland, where she had lived for the last 14 years. Mrs. Brunt was born at Belmont, Victoria, and was married to the late John Brunt, who died in Auckland eight years ago. They came to A T ew Zealand about IS9I with two children, and settled at Opotiki, where Mrs. Brunt took a keen interest in the Anglican Church. Sho is survived by two sons, Mr. Charles Brunt, of One Tree Hill, and Mr. H. Brunt, of Auckland. Another son, Arthur Brunt, died ia the Great War.

MR. JOSEPH CRISP. Mr. Joseph Crisp, an old resident of Blockhouse Bay, Avondale South, lias died at tho age of SO years. His father, Mr. Benjamin Crisp, settled at Kelson in 18.30. Sir. Joseph Crisp was born in Nelson. In early life he was employed in connection with his father's business. Later he entered the Public Works Department, in which ho remained for about seven years. In this period lio was engaged in railway construction, notably in connection with tho laying of the PictonBlenheim line and also, the WellingtonWairarapa railway across tho Rimutakas. Then he was transferred to the maintenance branch of the Railway Department, in which he rose to the position of inspector of permanent way, ultimately retiring on superannuation. An ardent Freemason, Mr. Crisp, was a past master of Lodge Taringatura, Southland, and was one of the foundation members of Lodge Titirangi, Avondale, to which ho was treasurer. On his retirement from office, lie was presented by the members with an illuminated address. Mr. Crisp was a charter member of Lodge Star of the South, Papakura. Ho was also a member of Lodge Wairoa South, Lodge Maukau, Lodge St. Andrew, Auckland, and was Past Grand Steward of tho New Zealand Grand Lodge. Mrs. Crisp died on September 25. They liad celebrated the 05th anniversary of their wedding. The funeral yesterday was largely attended. A service was first held at St. Jude's Anglican Church, Avondale, then tho cortege went to St. Mark's Cemetery, Kemuera, where, .a Masonic service was held at tho graveside.
