CALF CLUB PARADE.

The first field parade of the recentlyfornicd Howick-Fukurunga Calf Club was held on Saturday afternoon In the Howick school grounds. Twenty calves —Jersey and Frieslan—lined up with tlieir youthful owners before the judge. Mr. Robert Dawson, president of the Auckland Jersey Club. Tho judge was much impressed by the splendid way in which the calves were handled and had been cared for. Jerseys.—C. Bellamy and W. Baker, equal, 1 ; A. Pnton and J. Rutherford, equal 2; Marguret Shaw and F. Mansil, equal, 3. Frlesians.—Sybil Harrtman (the Judge declared this to be the best calf on the ground), 1; Campbell Trousdale, 2; J. Langford, 3. Mr. Dawson gave a short talk on the points of a good dairy cow. Afternoon tea was later served in the infant school by Mrs. A. C. Trousdale and Mrs. Norman Day, assisted by the senior girls of the school. Mr. F. H. Brownhill. president of the Wliltford Calf Club, Mr. 11. S. Booker, of Whitford, and Mr. Fred Alckin, of Tauwhare Stud Farm. Woodhill. congratulated the club on its successful parade.
