The Rev. H. J. Boyd-Bell has been appointed vicar of Kawhia. Mr. \V. F. O'Donnell is leaving for the South by to-night's Limited. Mr. J. Stanton, city solicitor, leaves by to-night's Limited for the South. The Hon. Sir George Fowlds left for the South by the Limited last evening. Sir James Parr, leader of the Legislative Council, left for Wellington last night. Mr. M. Van Staveren returned from a visit to Sydney by the Monowai yesterday. After spending some months in England, Mr. J. Reilly returned to Auckland yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Caughey returned to Auckland yesterday after a visit to Australia. Captain A. St. Claire Whyte returned by the Monowai yesterday after a visit to Australia. Mr. J. S. Milne returned by the Monowai yesterday after a short business visit to Australia. Mr. J. Yock, director of J. Yock and Co., returned from Wellington by this morning's Limited. Mr. J. T. McCorkindale, who has been on a business trip to Australia, returned yesterday by the Monowai. Mr. M. J. Moodabe, who has been on a business visit to Sydney, returned by the Monowai yesterday. Mr. M. E. Dunham, who has been on a brief business visit to Sydney, returned by the Monowai yesterday. Sir William Hunt, of Wellington, arrived by the Limited this morning, and is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. T. MeNab, Mayor of Mount Eden, and Mr. K. Buttle, member of the Mount Eden Borough Council, leave for Wellington to-night on borough business. Mr. O. R. Kresse, a Chicago business man, who has been on a visit to Australia, arrived by the Monowai yesterday. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. J. Rowe, member of the Auckland Electric Power Board, was granted a further three months' leave of absence on account of ill-health, at yesterday's meeting. Mr. G. Bruce-Smith, general manager for Australasia of the Australian Provincial Assurance Association, Ltd., arrived at Wellington from Sydney by the Maunganui yesterday. Dr. D. C. Macdiarmid, who has been doing special work in England for the last two years, returned by the Monowai yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. Macdiarmid. He intends practising his profession in Auckland. The Rev. H. G. Goring is to leave Wanganui at the end of the year in answer to a call to the Avondale Baptist Church. He will commence his new duties on February 1 next year. Mr. Goring has been twice elected president of the Wanganui Ministers' Association, which position he now holds.
