THEFT CHARGE.

COMPANY MANAGER IN COURT REMANDED FOR A WEEK. A company manager, George R. Holton, aged 48, appeared' before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., in the Police Court this morning, charged, on October 17, with stealing a quantity of iron plates, motor generator and switchboard, of a total value of £120, the property of Charles Kingsley Mills. On the application of Detective-Ser-geant O'Sullivan, accuscd was remanded for one week. Mr. R. D. Boyes, who appeared for accused, applied for bail. Holton, he eaid, had a complete answer to the charge. Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan asked that if bail was granted, it should be substantial. The magistrate said Holton was not bailable as of right. Bail was refused.
