NO JUMPING RACES.

"A Lover of Hunters" writes:—l wish to draw your attention to the fact that there are no jumping races at the Avondale meeting. To my mind this is another loss to the farmfng community, and does not encourage the breeding of jumpers. The racing conference may say that they run high-weight races for jumpers, but I understand that any hack that cannot jump is eligible. What chance lias a jumper? In my opinion I would say as much as a push-bike has against a motorbike. I should like to read some of your other readers' opinions.
