SUPERANNUITANTS.
SPECIAL FUND STARTED.
APPEAL TO PRIVY COUXCILT
' The sum of £100, the nucleus of a special fund, was subscribed in the room yesterday afternoon at a meeting of members of the Auckland branch of the Railway Superannuitants Association. The president, Mr. J. A. Arthur, presided over a gathering of 170 members. He said that a report had been received from the general secretary that a deputation in connection with the railway superannuation funds was to wait on the Rt. Hon. J. G .Coates, and that Messrs. C. P. Ryan and J. Mason had been appointed to represent the railway superannuitants.
The following resolution was passed: " Acting on the advice of an eminent barrister, the Auckland branch of the Railway Superannuitants' Association has decided to create a fund for the purpose of taking their case to the Privy Council, should that be necessary."
