TO VISIT CANADA.
Mr. Forbes to Meet Members of
The Government.
CHANGE OF PLANS?
OTTAWA, August 17.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mr. G. W. Forbes, is expected in Ottawa on Sunday for a conference with Sir George Perley, acting-Prime Minister, Mr. H. H. Stevens, Minister of Trade and Commerce, and other members of the Government. Mr. Forbes yesterday accepted an invitation to visit Canada.
A message from Washington states that Mr. Forbes visited the Arlington national cemetery and placed a wreath of roses and asters on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
The cablegram indicates a change in Mr Forbes' plans. It was announced from New York on August 12 that he had said he could not accept the invitation of the Canadian Government to visit Ottawa. The Prime Minister and his party are expected to sail from San Francisco on August 30 in the Royal Mail liner Makura for Wellington, where she is due to arrive on September 18.
