THIRD DEATH.
SLEEPING SICKNESS. EXAGGERATED REPORTS. STATEMENT BY DOCTOR. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) KAIKOHE, this day. The third death from sleeping sickness occurred yesterday, when Kathleen Galloway, aged 7i years, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Galloway, of Motukaraka. Hpkianffa. died in the Rawerie Hospital. The hospital authorities had held out small hope for he-; recovery. Dr. Cook, medical officer *>f health for North Auckland, has expressed regret that exaggerated rumours concerning the outbreak have apparently been spread since Sunday throughout the country, and even overseas. No further cases have been reported in either the Kaikohe or Rawene districts.
