EVIDENCE REVERSED.
SUPREME COURT COMMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Arising from the breaking and entering of the Moera Post Ofliee 'on April 2 the trial was commenced in the Supreme Court to-day of John Joseph MeClintock. Two other men who-had pleaded guilty and are now serving sentences, gave evidence reversing the/ir former testimony. Both now said' that MeClintock took no part in the attempted i-obbery, remaining in a car while they broke in and tried to open the safe. MeClintock, they said, drove them out, but when he learned their intentions, he refused to have anything to do with the venture. Mr. Justice Blair remarked that the witnesses were now disclosing that the evidence in the Lower Court was. .perjury. It was very serious to swear falsely that a man had committed a crime. The hearing was adjourned. I
