MOTOR FATALITY CLAIM.

JURY AWARDS SUM OF £1030,

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Wednesday. The claim for £2500 compensation and £50 expenses, made on behalf of Ada Elizabeth Ibbotson, widow of Arthur John Ibbotson, builder, of Wellington, by Cyril Arthur Ibbotson, farmer, of Whangarei, executor of his father's will, was concluded in the Supreme Court today. The case was- brought against Lance Godfrey Edwin Barnes, driver, and Tom Gordon Gault, motor mechanic, as a result of fatal injuries received by Mr. Ibbotson, sen., in an accident last vear. The jury returned a verdict that Ibbotson's death was caused by the negligence of the motor cyclist, Barnes, and the driver of the motor ear, Edgar James Stone. Ibbotson was not guilty of contributory negligence. The jury awarded plaintiff £1050 as compensation. Mr. Justice Ostler said he would not enter judgment in the meantime, so as to enable counsel for defendants to go into the question of. whether it was considered advisable arguing the nonsuit point further.
