BANNED GERMAN PLAYER.
ENGLISHMEN'S PROTEST.
LONDON", April 21
The two English Davis Cup tennis players, Austin and Perry, have written a letter to "The Times" on behalf of Prenn, the German player, who' has been banned, from the German team owing to his being a Jew.
They recall that last year, when Prenn won the semi-final in BeiTin against Britain, ho was carried from the arena amid spontaneous general enthusiasm.
"We have always valued international sport because we have believed it to be a great opportunity to improve international understanding, countenancing no distinctions of race, class or creed," they state. "For this reason alone we view with great misgiving an action which may undermine all that is most valuable in such competitions."
