(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) ■ '. ; TE KUITI, this day, / , It i 3 believed that heavy damage has; been done on the new OkahukuraStratford line, where the country is broken and there are numerous tunnels and cuttings. The extent of the damage will not be known until the complete distance can be traversed. ■ This at present is most difficult, and the journey may have to be done on foot between the slips. The weather this morning cleared to sunshine, and relief gangs were bbsily engaged along the line helping t* get expresses through at the earliest possible moment. Mails between Te Kuiti and Auckland are still being dispatched.
