NORTHCOTE-BIRKENHEAD REGATTA.
At the annual meeting of subscribers to the Northcote and Birkenhead regatta Inst evening in the Parish Hall, at Northcote, the Mayor, Mr. R. Murtin. presiding it was resolved that the ensuing function should again be a local regatta, to be held on February 11. the side-shows to he held a week later. February IS, on the Hinemoa Park waterfront at Birkenhead. \he cooperation of the local swimming club is to be invited. ... • . a Reviewing tin; year, the committee pointed out that the regatta held on February 27 last was solely a local one, and was the first which partook of this character for a considerable time, all the regattas for the past ten years having been both local and open. Some 37 local boats took part, compared with 110 competitors on the previous occasion, when tlie programme included open events. The side-shows at Hinemoa Park were well attended, and were very popular. The reserve'fund, of which Messrs. A. V. Tyer. N. J. Campbell and R. R. Hayman are the trustees, was drawn upon to the extent of £2 G/S to square the excess of expenditure over ""The'election of officers resulted : —Patron, Commodore Bnrges-Watson ; vice-patrons. Messrs.
