STABLE AMD TRACK NOTES.

HORSES FOR TARANAKI. W. Goscomb leaves to-night for New Plymouth with Bugle Call, St. Ames, Princess Star and Kind Words'. G. Grice will ride St. Ames, and G. Gomm Bugle Call. C. Walters will ride Ganpat, Bold Baron and Gold Gleam. •• PROSPECTS OF KOROKIO. Although Korokio failed to win a race at the. New Zealand Cup meeting, her form was good, and she may do better at Ellerslie. Her second to Concentrate in the Fendalton Handicap was a tirst-rate effort, as also was her performance in acting as runner-up-to The Quorn in the Members' Handicap at the same meeting. At her best Korokio is a bit above the average, and her trip to Ellerslie is likeiy to prove a profitable one. DOING GOOD WORK. Since arriving at Ellerslie Tout le Mond has been responsible for some pleasing track work and his connections expect linn to put up a boid showing in the Auckland Cup. He ran a good race in the Derby at Riccarton, finishing third, and in his next start on the same course .won the Otaia Plate, of one mile and a quarter, beating, among others, lied Sun, Nightliyer and Some Toff, all previous winners. With 7.0 in the big race at Ellerslie tlie son of Limond and Aspic is likely to prove dangerous. TO COMPETE AT ELLERSLIE. Tigerism has been paid up for in both the Manawatu aud Auckland Cups, and latest reports from the south state that he will contest the big two-mile event at Ellerslie. He lias already won two events this season over a mile and a quarter, and on each occasion finished on in a manner which indicated that a longer journey was unlikely to trouble him. Tigerism was close up behind the placed horses in the Mitchelson (hip, run over a mile and a half, and now that he is better seasoned the extr.a half mile may not be beyond him. TWO PROMISING JUVENILES. The Trentham-trained juveniles Dole aud Pegged Exchange have been favourably commented 011 by track watchers at Ellerslie, both being solid-looking two-year-olds, displaying a lot of quality. Each of them has won a race this season, Dole being successful in a four-furlong event at Trentham, while Pegged Exchange won the Spring Handicap, five furlongs, at Riccarton last month. These youngsters will find the opposition at Ellerslie a lot better than any that they have so far met, but both are ill the pink of condition and should show up during the meeting. A LIKELY IMPROVER. Supreme Ruler has never been doing more work than at present and is better conditioned than ever he has previously been. He has only had a limited amount of racing and is one of the most likely | improvers at headquarters. The son of Chief Ruler is due to contest the Queen's Plate next Monday, and despite the fact that he will be meeting some of the best hacks in commission at the present time he is not likely to be outclassed. Supreme Ruler conies from a family that has produced a number of winners in the past I and his future prospects look bright.
