WHALE OIL BOUGHT.

WHOLE OUTPUT PURCHASED. LONDON, December 7. The margarine and soap manufacturing firm Unilever, Limited, has purchased the whole of the 1932-33 season's production of whale oil at an estimated cost of £3,500,000. The news is welcome, as last year many whaling companies were unable to negotiate sales owing to over-produc-tion in 1930-31. The price of the oil in the present season is about £13 a ton, which should yield the companies a small profit if the catches in the Antarctic are up to the estimate.
