RIFLE SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB.
. The short ranges were used by members of the Auckland City Club at Penrose on Saturday. The weather was not conducive to;-good-shooting, and. for the most part the scoring was low.; A fine score was compiled by.H. Simmonds, who made 96, and led the next highest by six points.
Silver spoons were won by H. Simmonds and J. M. Jessop.
' Trophy Points.—A grade: H. Simmonds 3,' R. C. Russell 2, F. Bowes 1. B grade: J. M. Jessop 3, J. Walker 2, H. Cbllingwood 1, H. Simmonds won the A grade trophy and ,. A.- G. Degenkplbe the junior trophy. Details of the individual scores off the rifle are as follows:—
