I BARRETT CUP. OPENING OF SEASON. r The opening of the rowing season takes place to-morrow afternoon, when the Barrett Cup, the first of the inter-club trophies, will be rowed. • Each of the competing clubs will qualify with a set of trial fours and the various winners meet in the cup race. The arrangements for the day sre under the control of the Waitemata Boating Club, holders of the trophy, and the committee has arranged for the drawing of the trial crews to take part in the Waitemata boathouse at 2 p.m. sharp. The Barratt Cup is timed to start at 4.30 p.m. sharp. The officials lor the race are: — Starter, Mr. C. C. Cairns: judge. Mr. C. H. Hunt. The course will be from the flags at the second bridge on the Tamaki Drive to the usual finishing post just east of the tide deflector. The trial fours by the Waitemata Club will be for Messrs. Bailey and Lowe's trophies; North Shore, club trophies; St. George's, club trophies: Auckland, club trophies, and West End, Mr. R. L. Stewart's trophies.
