TE KUITI RACING CLUB.

MERGER WITH WAIKATO. MATTER TO BE FURTHER CONSIDERED. The To Kuiti Racing Club, at their annual meeting recently, decided to appoint a sub-committee to wait on the Waikato Racing Club with a view to amalgam at ion, and the meeting adjourned pending the result of that conference. When the meeting was resumed on Wednesday evening, Mr. H. Rothery, the chairman, said that he felt eure that the position of the club was no worse than that ot' many other small clubs, and with cooperation among the members he felt that the club could pull through. In accordance with a decision at the last meeting, with Mr. F. Yercoe, of Hamilton, he had approachcd the Waikato Racing Club with a view to amalgamation. The Waikato Club was setting up a sub-committee to meet the Te Kuiti Club, and he wae hopeful that some arrangement could be arrived at whereby the Waikato Club could conduct the Te Kuiti Club's meeting for one year at least. Members agreed that it would be useless to attempt to hold a meeting at Te Kuiti this year. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the incoming committee that a sub-committee be set up to approach the Waikato Club further and make the beat arrangement possible. The following officers were -elected: — President, Mr. H. Rothery; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. C. Harrison, B. Brewer, R. Boddy; committee, Meesrs. 0. A. Dalziel, D. Kennedy, E. J. Peterson, B. Broad, A. D. McLennan, O. R. Cook, C. Boles, G. H. Boles. H. C. Alexander, H. C. Maxwell; auditor, Mi'. M. W. A. Home; secretary, Mr. A. W. Whyte.

PUKEKOHE COURSE. TRACKS IN FINE ORDER. At present the following horses are in regular work at Pukekohe: — Sweet Whisper and Glenrata (.trained by W. A. Strahan, of Tuakau); Royal Doulton, Hairland and Puss Moth (trained by W. Townsend, of Pukekohe); True Blood, Kind Words ahd a Sandstar filly (trained by N. S. Shore, of Buckland). True Blood, Glenrata, Kind Words and Sweet Whisper claim engagements at Avondale, and are bowling along nicely in their work. The training tracks at Pukekohe have never been in better order than they are at present, especially the course proper, which has had special treatment. The new inner grass track and the plough are taking their full share of the training operations, and are in such first-class order that trainers never ask for permission to use the course proper, unless it is for a wind-up gallop on the eve of a meeting. During the last twelve months the course committee has devoted a great deal of time in effecting improvements to the tracks. A comprehensive drainage scheme has been completed, while other necessary alterations have been effected.
