FRANKLIN RACING CLUB.
The president, Mr. Dynes Fulton, presided at the monthly meeting of the Franklin Racing Club, when the following ollicials were appointed for the March meeting:—Judge, Mr. A. Tronson; handicapper, Mr. F. J. McManemin; starter, Mr. A. Vincent; timekeeper, Mr. E. H. Keating; clerk of scales. Mr. H. B. Massey; clerk of course, Mr. W. S. Hirst; birdcage steward, Mr. W. R. Hill. It was decided to advise the Dunedin Jockey Club that, while the club was in sympathy with the Dunedin Club's proposal to bring pressure to bear on the Justice Department to enforce the law in respect to bookmakers, it felt that the legalising of the telegraphing of money to the totalisator. and the re-establishing of the double totalisator, would be of greater benefit to clubs, and incidentally would do more to oust tlfi ..
