PILLION RIDER KILLED.
NORTH AUCKLAND ACCIDENT. COUUSION WITH VAN. YOUNG MAN FROM KOHUKOHU. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, tliia day. A motor cycle accident at Tutekehua, in the Rawene district, last evening resulted in the death of Richard Arthur Potter, the 18-year-okl son of Mr. A. A. Potter, agent for the Northern Steamship Company at Kohukohu. He was riding pillion with a friend named Burke, when the motor cycle collided with a van driven by Mr. G. Perkinson, of Okaihau. Potter wat picked up from the road unconscious and taken home, where he died. He received a severe gash in the head. Bourke, who is a postal clerk at Kohukohu, suffered severe shock and slight internal injuries, but is progressing satisfactorily. An inquest will be held. The victim was a brother of Mr. Keith Potter, of the Maungaturoto Dairy Company staff, and a well-known Rugby player, and of Mr. Frank Potter, who for a number of years was attached to the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, Whangarei.
